The first lens to features Canons new Hybrid IS image stabilisation technology is the brand new Canon 100mm/2.8 macro. The Hybrid IS system will provide up to 2 stops stabilisation at 1.0x magnification and up to 4 stops at longer distances. The lens additionally comes with ultra-low dispersion glass elements, a nine blade circular aperture and weathersealing.

February 18th, 2009Canon announced two new tilt and shift lenses, the Ultra-Wide angle TS-E 17mm f/4L and the TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II, an upgrade to the TS-E 24mm f/3.5L. Probably a reaction to Nikons new TS lenses but a good move for anyone interested in serious architecture photography.
